Thanks to beautiful weather, amazing Granny's donuts (see Tessa's photo blog for more on this), coffee and clear roads, we were able to get to Hamilton by dark. Ken and Sue were generous enough to help us load the UHaul at Mary and Andy's and with Andy's amazing tetris skills (acquired by many years of moving many family members), we packed all of our stuff into a bunkhouse. Homemade chicken soup, angel food cake with raspberries and some good conversation ended our night. High hopes for the next few days on our adventure to Seattle (thank you Ken, Sue, Mary and Andy, we love you!)

Today was the day we were supposed to head to Seattle and make it in time for Emma's birthday dinner (turning 8). Patrick suggested that we stay an extra day to recoop from our travels and labor but I was persistant on leaving ASAP. Until we saw the road reports. There was a winter storm warning for the whole Missoula area, snow and ice on all roads going to Seattle and then eventually at about 11 am MST Snoqualmie Pass closed from both sides. So there went our day.
